Messages — write to a person on Farooq Music

What it is. Private messages between two people on Farooq Music. Only the two of you see them.

Step 1 — Open your messages

Press the ✉ envelope at the top of any page. The small window shows your newest conversations; All messages opens the full screen, ✉ New message starts one. On a person's page the ✉ Message button opens a new message to that person.

Step 2 — Write to someone new

Type the person's @address (for example farooq-music). While you type, the window tells you at once: ✓ the person's name and photo when the address is right, ✗ Nobody with that @address when it is wrong, or that it is you. Send works only when the person is found and the message is written. Cancel closes the window.

Step 3 — Answer, mute, block, close

In a conversation: type and press Enter (Shift+Enter for a new line). 🔕 Mute stops the notices of this conversation; ⛔ Block closes messages between you both. The ✕ at the top right closes the messages screen and takes you back. The × on your own message takes it back.

New messages appear by themselves. While a conversation is open, a new message shows within a few seconds — no need to refresh the page. The ✉ number updates on every page too.
