Replacing a song's sound, cover and banner — and downloading your own sound
What it is. From 30 September 2026 the owner of a song has full control over it: the sound file, the cover (3000 × 3000), the banner (1240 × 400), the title in every language, the words, the genre, the tags, the metadata, the permissions and the preview — all from the song's ✎ Edit dialog. The song keeps its page, its address, its plays and its words. Only a suspended song (moderation) is locked; then the admin changes it.
Who does it. The owner of the song (the account behind its artist page) and the admin.
Step 1 — Open the edit dialog
On your page, on the song page or in Studio → My songs, press ✎ (or ⋯ → Edit).
Step 2 — Replace the sound
At the top of the dialog press ⇧ Replace file and choose the new sound (MP3, or WAV / FLAC for the best quality). A bar shows the upload; then the message says the new sound is received and is being prepared in the background. Listeners hear the new sound as soon as it is ready. If the length changed, the timing of the words may need a re-sync in the Sync Studio.
Step 3 — Download your own sound
Press ⇩ Download — the song's own MP3 comes down (a short-lived link, yours only).
Step 4 — Replace the cover or the banner
Open the Words & art tab. Under the cover press ⇧ Change and choose a square picture of at least 3000 × 3000 (the rule of every music site); under the banner choose a 1240 × 400 picture. The new picture shows at once and is saved; every card, the player and the wide rows use it from then on.
Step 5 — Everything else
Basic info (titles, language of the song — any language of the world, description, privacy), Metadata (ISRC, composer, lyricist, label…), Permissions and Advanced (the 20-second preview) are saved with Save. A change made by someone else in the meantime is refused with a note — reload and try again.
Pictures for every step are added after the package is live.
