Who we are. Farooq Music (farooqmusic.com, its apps and its stream address) is owned and run by FAROOQ MUGHAL (SMC-PRIVATE) LIMITED, a company registered in Pakistan with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), Corporate Unique Identification No. 0357349, registered office: Holiday Villa, Murad Colony, Behind Commerce College, Street 2, Pakistan. Chief Executive: Mohammad Farooq. Company e-mail: info@farooqmughal.net · support: support@farooqmughal.net. The company is the controller of your data. Write to us at contact@farooqmusic.com or through the 💬 suggestions box on every page.
The short version. We keep only what the service needs. We show no ads, we sell nothing about you, and there are no outside trackers on our pages. Everything runs on our own server.
What we keep
- Your account — your e-mail, your name and your password. The password is kept only as a one-way scramble (Argon2id); nobody, us included, can read it.
- Sign in with Google or Apple — if you choose it, they send us your name, your e-mail and (Google) your picture. We use them to open your account; nothing else is shared with them.
- Your profile — what you choose to add: photo, banner, about text, city, country, phone, links.
- What you put on the platform — songs, pictures, words, stories, comments, messages, playlists, your team's tasks and their payments.
- What you do — likes, saved songs, follows, reposts, your listening history, and the plays of each song. For a play we keep the country and city worked out from the internet address; the address itself is not kept — only a one-way fingerprint used to count fairly and to stop abuse.
- Safety records — sign-ins, blocked attempts and changes to your account, with the same one-way fingerprint.
- Your messages to us — what you write in the suggestions box and the e-mail you give for an answer.
Why
To run the service (play, show the words, keep your library), to show artists how their songs are heard (numbers and places, never names of listeners), to keep accounts safe, to answer you, and to send you the notices you chose (you can turn each kind off in Settings).
Where it lives
On our own server at Oracle Cloud (Saudi Arabia region). Safety copies are kept on our own storage and in Oracle's cloud storage. E-mails leave from our own mailbox (Hostinger). The map of places is a database on our own server — your address is never sent to anyone to find your city.
What artists see about listeners
- Artists see how often their songs are played — by day, song, device and country — and a city only when at least 5 different listeners heard them there (the team may raise this number). Smaller cities are shown together as "other cities", so a small town can never point at one person.
- An artist sees the names of their most frequent signed-in listeners, as on other music sites. Turn on Settings → Privacy → Quiet listener to stay out of every such list; your plays still count. Guests are never named.

Internet addresses
- Your internet address is used to count plays fairly, to find the country and city (on our own server) and to stop abuse. What we keep is a one-way fingerprint mixed with a secret key — the address cannot be read back from it.
- For safety only, the address behind a sign-in or a blocked attempt is kept locked and encrypted for 90 days after it was last seen, then deleted automatically every night. Only the platform's owner can open one address at a time, with a written reason, and that opening is itself recorded. Artists and team members never see addresses.
- The web server's own technical logs, which also hold addresses, are kept for 14 days.
Who else sees it
- Everyone sees what is public on purpose: your public profile, your artist page, your published songs, your comments, your likes on a song, your public playlists.
- Only you see your saved songs, private playlists, history and messages (and the people you write to).
- The team of an artist sees the tasks and payments of that team.
- No one else. We do not sell, rent or trade your data. We share it only if a law forces us to.
In your browser
The site keeps your sign-in and your settings (language, volume, what was playing) in your browser's own storage. One small cookie, fm2dev, holds only this browser's device number, so the website and the admin pages of one browser count as one device — it is used for nothing else. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
How long
As long as your account is open. When you close your account, everything public leaves the website at once and the rest is removed for good after 30 days; the safety copies roll over within 14 days after that. Payment records the law asks us to keep are kept as long as the law says.
Your choices
- See and download everything we keep: Settings → Your data → Download my data.
- Correct it: your profile page.
- Delete it: Settings → Your data → Close my account (see the article Close your account).
- Ask anything: contact@farooqmusic.com.
Children
Farooq Music is not for children under 13. If you learn that a child under 13 made an account, tell us and we will close it.
